TAMANI Hotels and Resorts raises total amount of AED 1,453,968
for children in Gaza
Dubai, 07 Feb 2009: TAMANI Hotels and Resorts in collaboration with Christies UK hosted the 1st Annual
TAMANI Charity Art Auction on February 4th evening at the TAMANI Hotel Marina aimed at raising
donation funds to benefit the suffering children of Gaza.
Held under the patronage of H.E. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Youth,
Culture and Development who commented, “It is my pleasure to be patron for this extraordinary event
where TAMANI leads in celebrating the triumphs of humanitarian celebrations. TAMANI Hotels and
Resorts have committed themselves to utilize our passion for Arabic and Islamic Art to support children
in need.”
Founder and Chairperson of TAMANI Hotels and Resorts Khulood Abdullah Al Rostamani stated “we are
extremely grateful of the resounding TAMANI Charity Art Auction’s success, despite our economic
situation, a number of art patrons showed up to support TAMANI’s aim to raise funds for children in
desperate need of support.”
TAMANI Hotels and Resorts is proud of its commitment to social and corporate responsibility, and as
such is engaging in social programs that inspire and serve communities in need. This year’s TAMANI
Charity Art Auction, one of the many initiatives under TAMANI CARES will set the stage for a series of
future charity events organized under the TAMANI Hotels and Resorts brand.
TAMANI’s core objective this year is to raise fund that will be forwarded to helping children by
supporting them morally and financially, especially those who have been ravaged by the war in Gaza.
The event gathered over 150 top VIP’s and art collectors, which also saw Hugh Edmeades, Chairman of
Christies Kensington UK as the official Auctioneer of the charity art auction which raise over AED 1.453
million at the end of the auction, of which a substantial portion will go to charity.

TAMANI Charity Art Auction gathered 31 of the best and prominent paintings in the Middle East wherein
art pieces depicting both themes of Middle Eastern and Islamic Arts were auctioned off to art patrons
and private art collectors.
The event was made possible with contribution of various institutional corporations such as KM
Properties as main sponsor, Emirates National Bank of Dubai as gold sponsor, First Gulf Bank as support
sponsor; and leading Art galleries namely Ayyam Gallery, Hunar Art Gallery, Third Line Gallery, Green
Art, Gallerie Al Marsa, Shams Gallery and Piu Plus, Private Art Collectors and Canvas magazine.
